Nelly is a directory of Swiss and Liechtenstein aviation web resources. It provides links to over 1600 different websites, including selected world-wide link sites and sites from other countries with information about Switzerland and Liechtenstein. You will also find links to sites about the German sector of FIR/UIR Switzerland and - as its IFR approaches are controlled by Swiss ATC - about Friedrichshafen airport. The sites' classification is based on their content. Astronautics sites are not included systematically kite sites are not included at all.

Internal links are written in bold letters, external links in normal ones. Internal crosslinks are marked with a × sign. Sites with an excellent coverage of their subject or including very useful information are labeled with a tip tag. Companies, media, groups and associations usually don't get such a tag. Sites charging fees are marked with a fee tag.

Search Tool
I know this site actually needs a search tool, but currently I'm not able to include such a feature.

All sites meeting the conditions mentioned above under Content are included for free without further requirements. Other sites can't be included to maintain Nelly's integrity. I know this doesn't make too much sense for certain areas of interest, e.g. spotting or flight simulation, but I had to draw a line somewhere. For additions, contact me using the e-mail address below under Contact.

My name is Andreas Carl. Yes, Carl is my last name. I live in the German-language part of Switzerland. Feel free to send me an e-mail message in German, English or French if you have an addition, a correction or a comment - if you like on a first name basis. I made my private pilot licence at the Motorfluggruppe Zürich and my frozen air transport pilot licence in the Swissair Aviation School class PK 1/00. Since 2004 I'm a flight instructor at the Swiss Pilot School Association (division Motorfluggruppe Zürich) and in 2009 also for Swiss AviationTraining (English). I like to make trips and formation flights with single-engine piston planes.

Nelly simply links to the listed sites and its author is not responsible for any content available or functions used on these sites. This website is named after Nelly Hedwig Diener. She was the very first flight attendant in Europe. On May 1, 1934, Nelly took up her job as a Swissair Stewardess on the route from Zurich to Berlin. This route was covered by one Curtiss T-32C Condor II which crashed near Tuttlingen (Germany) on July 27, 1934. All nine passengers and three crew members were killed. In this accident, Nelly died on her 79th mission at the age of 22. I hope this site is a help to you as Nelly was to her guests on all of her missions. Her German last name means "servant" after all.

Currently about 450 real people a day visit Nelly. The most popular pages are Aerodromes, Map, New and Business Aviation.

Thanks a lot to all contributors.
